This month we’re highlighting the newest release in Kathryn Mackel’s Birthright Project series: Trackers. (Note the three different links there: one for Kathy’s site, one for the Birthrighters Project, and one for the book at Amazon.
Trackers is the continuing adventure of Niki, Brady, Timothy, Ajoba, Anastasia, and Cooper, who we met in Outriders. For a review of Outriders, go here, and ignore the fact that the cover pic is for Kathy’s book The Departed.
I think I’ve commented elsewhere that I met Kathy at my first writer’s conference, where she was teaching screenwriting. (Kathy has been busy writing the screenplays of several of her own stories, and has assisted in such projects as Left Behind and Hangman’s Curse.) She sat in on the “Thick-Skinned Critique” workshop and took a seat next to me–and during the course of the workshop made some extremely encouraging and kind comments about my writing. This led to some email correspondence with Kathy, and to me getting a peek at the unfinished Outriders (which in some respects I liked better in rough draft form, but Kathy and I have talked about that, too). Later, I volunteered to be on the influencer team for both Outriders and its sequel, Trackers … and voila, here we are.
So–I just finished reading Trackers this past week–and everything that made Outriders appealing is present in this volume as well. I’ll post a detailed review tomorrow, and then on Wednesday will discuss the future of the series, but for now I want to let everyone know that I’m offering the chance to win an autographed two-book set. All you have to do is post a comment on my blog, today through Wednesday, and let me know that you’re interested. I’ll do my best to get the set to the winner in time for Christmas, so this would make a great gift for an older teen or young adult (or older adult 🙂 ) who loves SF/F.
Don’t forget to check out the other participants’ websites for interviews, drawings, and reviews!

Wow, I had no idea this blog tour was going on so long…and I’d never heard of Kathryn Mackel, so some new reading for the Christmas break would be great. 😉

P.S. I’d been having problems commenting then I switched to Beta Blogger and everything turned fine.
